Edinburgh to Mardin - new academic positions

By Cornucopia | February 22, 2011

Following on from our post about academic jobs last month, we've got two more opportunities to report. The first comes from the new Mardin Artuklu University, which is seeking applicants (who must be fluent in Turkish, English, or both) to fill a number of positions including Art History, Syriac Language and Literature and Anthropology. Based in and around the stunning hilltop city (above), this university is seeking to position itself as a leading Middle Eastern research centre. Visit the H-Net page for more details. In another city with steep, winding streets (but a slightly cooler climate), Edinburgh University is looking for a Teaching Fellow in Islamic Art History. The two-year position will involve teaching at  both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as certain administrative tasks related to the role. For more details, click here.
