Nâzim Hikmet Poetry Festival

By Cornucopia | March 25, 2011

Make some space in your diaries, North American poetry-lovers. On 17 April, the third annual Nâzim Hikmet Poetry Festival will be taking place in the town of Carey, North Carolina. Originally intended as purely a tribute to the greatest of modern Turkish poets (above), it has developed over its three years into a festival of poetry in general. Supported by a generous grant from the Turkish Cultural Foundation, it is a fitting tribute to a towering figure of twentieth-century Turkish culture. Sunday, April 17, 2011, Page Walker Arts & History Center, Cary, North Carolina. For more details, contact the organisers at: contact@nazimhikmetpoetryfestival.org
