Looking for something to do this weekend? Here’s one exhibit you should be sure to catch.
Depo’s show Echo of Homs isn’t about war, which somehow makes the specter of war more present. Featuring the work of Syrian artists from Homs and archival photographs of the distinctive architecture of the city, this show gives a look into the creative heart and vibrant culture of Homs. It’s refreshing to see a show about Syria that focuses on the special beauty of the place, but war and destruction looms unspoken on the margins of the show. It’s melancholy, and moving, and lovely.
