THE EKLISIA SUMMER SCHOOL

Performers on the stage of the festival will at the same time be giving masterclasses to music students from all over the world. Between 27 July and 18 August visiting students will be able to work intensely and play together with performers and other students alike.

Turkish and International students taking part in the 3 week summer school programme will have an unparalleled opportunity to give concerts and study, enjoying the unbeatable atmosphere of the holiday village of Gümuslük

About the masterclasses, which started in 2006 and attracted wide-spread interest, Eren Levendoglu says ' This year the masterclass programme has been transformed into a summer school format. Participating students will, for a total of 23 days take part in classes everyday, having the opportunity to work with all the artists in the 2007 programme. At the same time, they will have ample opportunity to form chamber music groups, and give concerts to the public. We will have fun too: there will be parties; we will go on boat trips. In actual fact though, the students that come enjoy working so much in the fantastic atmosphere of Eklisia, in their spare time, they prefer to play music together rather than going swimming in the sea.

Alongside the limited places for active participating students, there is also opportunity for passive participants to take part in the masterclass programme. Throughout the festival period, members of the public may on a daily basis, apply for admission to the masterclasses.
