The Arts and Humanities Research Institute at King’s College, in conjunction with the Institute for the Arts and Humanities at the University of North Carolina, is staging an international conference on the Cultural Legacies of World War I.

The conference will cover a wide range of aspects of how the First World War changed the world, such as its geopolitical aftermath (and its current repercussions in the Middle East); how people thought about future wars; and the war’s impact on social history, the arts, popular cultures, science, technology, nursing and medicine.
