- What’s On
The Artists’ Film International programme, now in its fifth year, showcases contemporary video, short films and moving images from across the globe. Every year, each programme partner selects one or more visual work by an artist from their home country (this year, 16 partners are participating from countries such as the UK, USA, China, Israel, Serbia, Morocco and Afghanistan, just to name a few). Turkish German-born artist Bengü Karaduman will present her video installation We Are All in The Same Boat, alongside screenings of the artist’s other videos. Eighteen other videos grouped into four themes that take their cue from the concepts found in Sigmund Freud’s seminal work Civilization and Its Discontents will be presented. In addition, all four video works by Turkish artists who participated in the programme in previous years will be displayed.
The screenings will take place at the Istanbul Modern Cinema between November 21 and 24. Click here for the full programme. The exhibition will be displyed at the pop-up exhibition area until February 23.
