- What’s On
The Pera Palace Hotel Jumeirah is hosting a literary festival in honour of Agatha Christie, one of the hotel’s most famous guests, on the 125th anniversary of her birth. A crime novelist, Christie wrote her best-selling novel Murder on the Orient Express while staying in Room 411 of the hotel, which was built for the express purpose of hosting passengers of the Orient Express.
The festival will feature panels on subjects such as female detectives and crime fiction in popular culture, among others. Both Turkish and foreign writers of note, including Alexander McCall Smith and Ahmet Ümit, will participate in the festivities. The Pera Palace Hotel Jumeirah has special packages for Black Week that include an invitation to the opening ceremony on Thursday, October 22. Non-guests may attend events on October 23–24.
