- What’s On
Koç University’s Ottoman Summer School will again take place at the Research Centre for Anatolian Civilisations (RCAC) in Beyoğlu this summer. The programme, which concentrates on the skills of reading and understanding a variety of Ottoman texts, is open to students enrolled in MA and PhD programmes. There are two levels of classes: intermediate and advanced. Some knowledge of Ottoman is required to apply.
In addition to Ottoman, the programme will offer classes in Arabic and Persian, as well as guided trips and lectures. Participants are expected to stay in the RCAC building, where classes are held from Monday to Thursday. Lunch is included four days a week. Airfare and visa expenses are each participant’s own responsibility. Scholarships will be given based on need and merit.
The programme takes place from July 11 – August 19. Applications are due on April 30. For more information on how to apply, click here.
