- What’s On
Koç University invites graduate students and young professionals to apply for a three-week summer course on urban political ecology.
The class will focus on how the contemporary city depends upon its natural surrounding for agricultural output and land conversion, and also how natural resources shape the city’s landscape, and establish and reinforce socio-spatial inequalities. In addition, the course will examine how urban commons have recently become a battleground over which dominant urban strategies are being contested. As a part of the ‘on the road’ concept, the flow of the class will adopt a hands-on approach to the city and benefit from a series of guided fieldworks as well as readings and discussions.
The programme takes place from July 11–29. Applications are due on April 15. Please click here for the application form.
