- What’s On
This film festival started by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Art (IKSV) in 2001 has become a favourite around the country.
The festival starts with a week long showcase of films – fresh from being recognised at international film festivals – shown at three cinemas in Istanbul. This year 40 films will be presented including the much-anticipated Coen brothers drama Inside Llewyn Davis (loosely based on the unfinished memoir by folk singer Dave Van Ronk, who released an album titled Inside Dave Van Ronk in 1963) and Croatian director Bobo Jelčić’s sophomore feature, A Stranger.
After a week in Istanbul, the festival will go on a seven-city tour around Turkey with stops in Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, Diyarbakır and Batman.
