Gods, Monsters and Men

Murat Palta

February 1, 2018 – March 3, 2018

x-ist, Abdi İpekçi Caddesi, Kaşıkçıoğlu Apt. No. 42 D.2, Nişantaşı, Istanbul

Murat Palta uses classical miniatures and an affinity for pop culture to create a witty solo exhibition. The works explore mythology’s knack for creating stories of gods, men, and monsters, finding humour in the absurd intersection of an old art form with a modern sensibility. The pieces on display used a variety of media, including handwoven rugs, mixed media on paper, wall sculptures and video animation.
