In May 1991 the Lyon photographer, Paul Veysseyre travelled to Iraqi Kurdistan. He travelled almost 700 kilometres into the valleys of Northern Iraq to places already deserted by other journalists, to photograph operation Provide Comfort established by the United Nations to provide help for the Kurds threatened with extermination by Saddam Hussein. The following year, he returned to the newly autonomous Kurdistan Region to complete his report.
The exhibition is presented by the Armenian Heritage Centre.
