Istanbul Music Festival 2021

This year, its 49th, the Istanbul Music Festival moves outdoors.

The festival will feature a total of 21 different concerts. Notably, Tekfen Philharmonic Orchestra, Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra, Accademia Bizantina, Festival Orchestra, Modigliani and quartet along with numerous others including Fazıl Say, İdil Biret, Khatia Buniatishvili, Anna Vinnitskaya, Alexander Rudin, Hande Küden, Paul Meyer, Simon Ghraichy, Martynas Levickis, and Ufuk-Bahar Dördüncü.

The 2021 festival will be hosted in a variety of outdoor venues. Bellow is the exact programme, and linked is the full in-depth itinerary for any Istanbulites eager to attend.

In addition to the evening concerts, nature hikes, workshops, and other youth-led and youth-oriented side activities will be running free of charge. Pre-concert talks will also continue. Those not in attendance can listen to these talks in podcast form after the event.

This year, the Lifetime Achievement awards goes to the Latvian composer Pēteris Vasks, and the Honorary Award goes to the celebrated Turkish violinist Cihat Aşkın, many of whose recordings have been available from Cornucopia over the years.
