John Henry Haynes – born in Rowe and educated in North Adams and Williamstown – was a pioneer of archaeological photography. He discovered and documented important artifacts and sites from ancient Greece, Rome, and Sumeria; some of these treasured remains have been destroyed in recent years. This event will include a display of items donated by Haynes and an illustrated presentation by Professor Robert Ousterhout of the University of Pennsylvania exploring Haynes’ accomplishments and legacy.
