Highlighting the art of portraiture and the work of a highly-regarded architect, the two new exhibitions opening at the Pera seem to delve into the idea of creativity itself.
Look At Me! Portraits and Other Fictions from the la Caixa Contemporary Art Collection examine one of the oldest artistic genres: portraiture. Drawing from a significant number of modern works, including paintings, photographs, sculptures and videos, the exhibition dwells on the way portraits serve as a social mirror.
The exhibition Re/Framing Louis Kahn: Photographs by Cemal Emden – Drawings and Paintings focuses on the architect, thinker and artist Louis Kahn. Bringing together drawings and photographs of architectural works from Pennsylvania to Ahmedabad, the show delves into the work of one of the 20th century’s most renowned architects.
