The National Museum of Bahrain is hosting an exhibition of masterpieces from the Sakıp Sabancı Museum collections to mark the Istanbul museum’s 25th anniversary. The exhibition called ‘Five Hundred Years of Islamic Calligraphy’, includes of priceless manuscripts, samples of Islam calligraphy and binding, documents of diplomacy and imperial decress as well as materials used by calligraphers. The exhibition’s 86 objects also, including oil paintings many related to calligraphy. Delightful but surprising company is Halil Pasha’s oil painting of a woman at work in her studio.
