Meteor shower at Istanbul Modern

August 12, 2015
18.00–23.00

Istanbul Modern, Meclis-i Mebusan Caddesi, Antrepo No. 4, Tophane, Istanbul

Istanbul Modern invites audiences to celebrate the meteor shower that will happen on Wednesday evening, August 12. Throughout the evening, meteors that are debris from the Comet Swift-Tuttle rediscovered in 1992 will be visible with the naked eye or a telescope.

Various activities will be held in the open-air site-specific installation ‘All That is Solid’ (read more here), including a telescope observation workshop led by astronomers; educational, art and play workshops; discussions on astronomy and art history; a yoga session; and acoustic concerts. Fun for everyone.
