In this solo exhibition Neveser Özenbaş explores the different sides of the relationship between the city and the individual, the city and city life, and more broadly between art, the individual and the city. There are various layers of meaning that can be found in her work, which makes the viewer ponder the types of lives that they lead and the type of city they live in.
Özenbaş graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, where she focused her studies on textiles, in 1981. She worked for two years at the Topkapı Palace Museum and also spent four years working in Mehmet Güleryüz’s studio. Currently she pursues her own work in her Istanbul-based studio.
