November 12, 2014 – January 10, 2015

Zilberman Gallery and Project Space, Mısır Apt, İstiklâl Cad 163, Floors 2 & 3, D5 & 10, Galatasaray, Beyoğlu, 34433 İstanbul

The process of change and transformation in the Middle East is a recurring theme in the work of the Iraqi-Kurdish, London-based artist Walid Siti. He depicts unique landscapes with metaphorical mountains, elements from the architectural heritage and wide plains; his drawings and sculptures are as stylistic as they are poetic.

This show focuses on the structures that people have built in the past: pyramids, ziggurats and towers, which have been shaped by the very idea of ‘reaching further and further up’. Siti visually demonstrates this dynamic and endless movement with ladders, the most basic elements of his sculptures.

Prices range between $US 2,000 and $US 70,000.
