The Ottoman Silks Story at Leighton House
For over 600 years, Ottoman Sultans ruled a vast Empire that stretched from North Africa to the gates of Vienna. Share the extraordinary story behind the silk trade, these exquisite designs and the highly skilled artisans who created these priceless kaftans that kickstarted the fashion industry.

Drinks will be served from 6.30pm in the Narcissus Hall, followed by a talk and ‘fashion show’, then a reception with meze and a showcase of the Ottoman Silks Collection. There will also be a display of Carolinda Tolstoy’s ceramics featuring pieces reminiscent of the Levant and the Ottoman Empire.
The exhibitors are generously donating a percentage from items purchased or ordered on the evening to the assigned charity, The Earl Mountbatten Hospice.
