As part of the cultural programme celebrating the 600th anniversary of Turkish–Polish diplomatic relations, Pera Museum will host a number of film events focusing on the masters of Polish cinema.
From November 1 to 29, five films by the controversial director Roman Polanski will be screened. Classics such as Rosemary’s Baby and Tess will be screened alongside lesser-known but still brilliant works Cul-de-sac and Knife in the Water. The 2008 documentary Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desire will round off the programme. Click here for screening times.
From November 12 to December 6, the work of Agnieszka Holland, best known for her highly-politicised contributions to Polish New Wave cinema, will be honoured. Four films by the prominent female director will be screened, all made between 1980 and 2013, including Fever (1981) and In Darkness (2012), the Oscar-nominated film about a petty thief in Lvov, a Nazi occupied city in Poland.
