Talent Unlimited founder Canan Maxton explains the connection with the violinist and philanthropist Aidan Woodcock:

I met Aidan because some TU musicians were performing at his home where he held many concerts every week – all sold out. He used to seat about 70 people. He set up a charity called Maiastra which gives masterclasses and courses to string players and mentors them. He very kindly gave performance opportunities to some of my musicians when I asked him. Amongst these musicians was Erzhan Kulibaev, violinist. Aidan liked Erzhan very much and asked me to send Erzhan back to him whenever the opportunity presented itself. Erzhan played at his home at least twice and was going to do it again when we lost Aidan. This is how this Celebration of his life came about. With a man with Aidan’s energy one can only talk about his life and not his death. That is why I asked Erzhan to come back from Madrid where he lives to give this celebration concert with a superb pianist, Samson Tsoy.
