teamLab: Between Art and Physical Space

March 5, 2016 – October 16, 2016

Borusan Contemporary, Rumelihisarı Mahallesi, Baltalimanı Hisar Caddesi No 5, Perili Köşk, 34470 Sarıyer – Istanbul

This interactive exhibition, curated by Charles Merewether, lets visitors enter the immersive world of teamLab, an interdisciplinary creative group based in Japan that explores the intersection of technology and art. Borusan Contemporary is known for focusing on media arts broadly defined, and this exhibition is a perfect example of this type of boundary-defying work.

Between Art and Physical Space moves beyond anime and manga to create a world of moving images that visitors can both touch and change. Watch flowers bloom and waves tumble across the room, and make butterflies appear and disappear with a simple touch. This imaginary world is simply spectacular and will appeal to even those who have little interest in art.
