- What’s On
This large-scale exhibition is sure to be a crowd-pleaser as it features 100 works of the enigmatic street artist Banksy. Curated by Steve Lazarides, Banksy’s agent and the owner of the UK gallery Lazarides, the exhibition features graffiti installations that Banksy made in London and other locales. Although there has been some debate about the meaning and nature of street art, and whether it should even be displayed in galleries, the public has demonstrated a clear interest in Banksy’s topical work, which ranges from whimsical to scathingly critical.
The opening of this exhibition also marks the opening of Global Karaköy, Global Investment Holding’s new art gallery. It will join the ranks of other large holding companies and banks that have invested in cultural initiatives and created spaces for viewing contemporary art in Istanbul.
