The University of Bamberg has invited scholars from all over the world working in the fields of history, linguistics, philology, literary studies, social sciences, anthropology, and political sciences on Turkey and the Turkic World to participate in the third European Convention on Turkic, Ottoman and Turkish Studies (Turkologentag 2018).
The conference is organized in co-operation with the Department of Oriental Studies at Bamberg University. Papers may be presented in English, German or Turkish.
Panels include: The Power of Language: Linguistic and Social Order in the Ottoman Empire, and Going Native: Converts, Renegades and ‘New’ Ottomans, 16th-19th centuries.
