March 22, 2017 – April 15, 2017

x-ist, Abdi İpekçi Caddesi, Kaşıkçıoğlu Apt. No. 42 D.2, Nişantaşı, Istanbul

With this solo exhibition, his eighth at x-ist, the accomplished artist Ansen is adding a new episode to his earlier series on power relations. His new works will look at ‘tyrants’, the demigods of our new world order.

In comparison to the black-and-white universe of Noirland, Ansen’s previous series that presented a satirical and dark view of the future, these digitally created works feature a more colourful palette.

Ansen Atilla was born in Kayseri in 1978 and is considered one of the most powerful Turkish artists of his generation. His complex compositions bring together painting and sculpture, popular and medieval imagery as he explores the topical issue of the ego’s yearning for unimpeded power and its effects.
