Yedikule gardens, Hacı Piri Sokak, Belgrad Kilisesi Bostanı, Fatih

Harvard University PhD candidate Aleksandar Shopov who initiated the movement to rescue the Yedikule bostans (gardens) over a month ago – which included the launching of the very active lobby group, Yedikule Bostanları – will conduct a workshop on the agricultural history of the gardens. This is another event to disseminate knowledge about the gardens and hopefully save it from destruction.

The programme is as follows:

16.00–17.00: Remedies for ailing plants in 16h-century Istanbul

17.00–18.00: ‘Ruccola against Rocket’ Planting on the Peace Day

The workshop will be in Turkish with English translation.

The garden is located behind the Belgrade Church which is 300 metres to the right after the Belgrade Gate entrance to the Old City. The entrance to the garden is at Haci Piri Sokak.
