- What’s On
Sakıp Sabancı Museum’s autumn/winter exhibition focuses on the ZERO movement. The show brings together works by the movement’s forefathers including Heinz Mack, Otto Piene and Günther Uecker, along with works by three important artists of the 20th century, Yves Klein, Piero Manzoni and Lucio Fontana, who inspired and contributed to the movement. The exhibition aims to introduce the ZERO movement to art enthusiasts in Turkey.
The ZERO movement, born in Düsseldorf in 1957 with the motto ‘Art must start from zero’, takes its name from the countdown to the launch of a rocket. On a mission to transform conventional notions of art, ZERO still maintains its relevance and dynamism today, decades after it was founded.
