Leyla Gencer Opera and Cultural Centre

One of Turkey’s largest opera houses, the Leyla Gencer Opera and Cultural Centre has an auditorium with good acoustics that can seat 1,000 people and an open-air stage that can seat 250. The Centre, which was constructed by the Bakırköy municipality, is named after Turkey’s most famous diva Leyla Gencer.

Unfortunately, the hopeless website is only in Turkish. Tickets can usually be obtained from Biletix. For a list of events, click here. The closest visible landmark if you are driving is the Bakırköy Adliyesi (Law Court)
