‘Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.’ Victor Hugo’s words in Les Misérables catch the mood of protesters manning the barricades outside the palace of Dolmabahçe on the night of June 2. One blogger could not resist the parallels between Istanbul 2013 and 19th-century Paris. After so much pain and bloodshed, we can only hope for a happier endiing.
