Orhan Pamuk

Born in Istanbul in 1952, Orhan Pamuk is Turkey’s best known writer. His affection for the city was much in evidence in his novel Istanbul, and in the Museum of Innocence that he has devised. He was awarded the Noble Prize for Literature in 2009.
