The 35th Istanbul Film Festival, the oldest and most often the most comprehensive film festival in Istanbul, is hitting theatres this April.
The timing of the festival means that 2016 Oscar nominees – and maybe even some winners – will be screened in Istanbul for the first time. This year’s festival includes showings of Brooklyn, which stars Saoirse Ronan as an Irish woman who is caught between two loves and two countries, and was nominated for three Oscars. Embrace of the Serpent, one of the nominees for Best Film in A Foreign Language, will also be shown.
