The Tambuco Percussion Ensemble, founded in Mexico in 1993, consists of Ricardo Gallardo (percussion and artistic director) plus percussionists Alfredo Bringas, Raúl Tudón and Miguel Gonzáles.
This ensemble adopts a wide assortment of musical styles, ranging from structured percussion music to ethnic drum music and avant-garde sound interpretation. Using percussion instruments from bongos to vibraphones, they often perform original compositions inspired by the popular and folk music idioms of Mexico. The soundtrack for the 2015 James Bond film ‘Spectre’ features a performance by Tambuco in the opening track, Los Muertos Vivos Estan.
