Drawing its name and inspiration from the famous Virginia Woolf novel, A Room Of One’s Own explores the reality of being a woman in a man’s world through the work of four female photographers.

Cansu Yıldıran’s series The Dispossessed focuses on women in the Black Sea region of Turkey who are deprived of the right to own property.

German photographer Charlotte Schmitz presents her project I am so beautiful, so beautiful. She spent time photographing her neighbours in Istanbul’s Balat district over the course of two years, documenting their private lives.

The series Crown Giver by Iranian artist Tahmineh Monzavi takes its name from an old beauty pageant and delves into a fictional beauty standard in Iran.

Meltem Işık uses her series Twice into the Stream to explore the idea of voyeurism and women’s personal relationships with their own bodies.
