Amit Bein is Professor of History at Clemson University, and the author of Kemalist Turkey and the Middle East: International Relations in the Interwar Period (Cambridge University Press, 2017) – he takes the line that Turkey in the 20th century was much more entangled with Middle East affairs than historians generally project.
