Archaeological Impressions From Anaia

The Kadıkalesi excavations in Kuşadası

June 26, 2013 – December 25, 2013

Since 2001, archaeological excavations in Kadıkalesi carried out on the southern shore of the Aegean harbour of Kuşadası have unearthed a glorious church in the castle, as well as the artefacts of trade, from glasswork to jewellery, in the wealthy medieval episcopate of Anaia. Strong evidence has also emerged that Anaia was an important centre of ceramic production.
