- What’s On
Ayline Olukman’s second solo exhibition in Istanbul showcases the artist’s new mixed-media series, fresh from garnering a lot of attention in New York and Paris.
Olukman travels a lot and makes use of images from the places she visits. In her most recent series, she focuses on nature, in contrast to earlier works that dealt with concepts of cultural background and urban spaces. Specifically, Olukman addresses the idea of becoming a woman. Prone to becoming a tool of commodification and fetishisation, the female body becomes free in the natural settings of Olukman’s works.
Prices are $7,500 for works sized 160 x 140 cm, and $3,300 for ones sized 100 x 80 cm.
