Join Claude Piening, Head of 19th Century European Paintings and James Parry author of Orientalist Lives for this panel discussion ahead of the Important Works from the Najd Collection auction on 22 October.
Assembled during the 1980s, this is the most important collection of Orientalist art in private hands, a collection which reflects the vision of one man who was among the first from the Middle East to recognise the quality and importance of Orientalist art.
The Najd Collection explores just about every facet of daily life in the Arab, Ottoman and Muslim worlds, revealing the owner’s passionate interest in the dialogue between East and West.
The talk will start at 2pm prompt in the St George Street Gallery so please arrive 15 minutes early.
