Café Amsterdam: On The Human Condition

October 31, 2013
20.30–21.30
Admittance is free. Please arrive 15 mins prior to the event starting to reserve a seat.

KargArt, Kadife Sokak No. 16, Kadıköy, Istanbul

Up-and-coming Dutch novelist Jan van Mersbergen (author of the critically-acclaimed Tomorrow Pamplona); EU Literature Prize laureate Çiler Ilhan; Izmir-born, Amsterdam-based author Murat Işık and young novelist Nermin Yıldırım will contemplate how writers handle the human condition in their work. They will attempt to answer questions such as ‘How significant are the familiarities that the reader draws between elements in a story and their own lives?’ and ‘How do authors reconcile the universal and the personal in their writing?’

The talk will be in Turkish and English.
