Christie’s sale of Art of the Islamic and Indian Worlds showcases treasures from across the region, ranging from paintings and metalwork to textiles and manuscripts. Highlights include a group of Mamluk tiles, a rare Fatimid gold bracelet and an important late Ottoman Qur’an by the master calligrapher Yahya Hilmi. The sale will also feature a number of exceptional Oriental carpets, led by a magnificent 17th century Safavid gallery carpet and the iconic 17th century Barbieri ‘Compartment and Tree’ Khorasan carpet, formerly in the Orient Stars collection.
