Deconstructing the Author

November 2, 2013
19.15–20.15
Admittance is free. Please arrive 15 mins prior to the event starting to reserve a seat.

KargArt, Kadife Sokak No. 16, Kadıköy, Istanbul

Scottish writer Damian Barr who did his time at some of Britain’s most popular newspapers and has written two books, Turkish author Hikmet Hükümenoğlu, Austrian novelist Thomas Stangl and Izmir-born, Amsterdam-based author Murat Işık will tackle how the author is deconstructed in the digital age. Social media allows for the author to establish a connection with the reader ‘between texts’, so to speak. Whether perceived as a challenge or an opportunity to build a new kind of connection, the author indulges in reconstructing his/her identity on online media. And, does the author’s ‘identity’ on Facebook and Twitter become a new kind of text itself?

The event will be in English and Turkish.
