Mixer, Kemankeş Karamustafa Paşa Mahallesi, Mumhane Caddesi No. 50, Beyoğlu, Istanbul

In a celebration of street art, the Tophane gallery Mixer is hosting the first solo gallery exhibition of the Istanbul graffiti artist Cins (pronounced Jins), whose work has added dramatic backdrop to recent events. The exhibition features both early graffiti works and new works on canvas, as well as found objects, drawings, collages and paintings. Adding an edge of reality/danger to the show, Cins has painted the grey exterior wall of the gallery. Ironically, the opening was subject to the latest round of gallery attacks that famously began in 2010, when a stick-wielding gang hospitalised guests at a gallery opening.

Cins’ work is like a visual diary inspired by the everyday encounters. The title is a play on the word ‘error’ and ‘terör’.

Prices range from TL750 to TL7,000.
