Agnieszka Cieślińska

January 6, 2014 – January 31, 2014

Galeri Işık, Teşvikiye Caddesi 6, Nişantaşı, Istanbul

The year 2014 marks the 600th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Poland and Turkey. To celebrate, the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Istanbul has put together a special cultural programme which is inaugurated by an exhibition at Nişantaşı’s Galeri Işık throughout January.

The works of graphic artist Agnieszka Cieślińska, a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, are displayed as curated by Prof. Yurdaer Altıntaş, a leading Turkish graphic artist of partly Polish descent. Some of Cieślińska’s works have been shown as a part of an exhibition of Polish graphic art, which accompanied both the 21st Artİst Art Fair and the 30th International Book Fair in Istanbul. The current exhibition aims to show the artist’s precise technique and the ‘figurativeness’ she employs throughout her oeuvre.

Prior to the opening of the exhibition on the evening of January 6th, an academic seminar at the Faculty of Fine Arts conference hall of Işık University in Maslak will take place, starting at 11.00.
