Great British Collections

June 30, 2019 – July 7, 2019
Email halitours@hali.com to book

Following straight on from this summer’s HALI London festival (24-30 June 2019), the next HALI Tour offers a unique opportunity to explore a fantastic range of outstanding antique rugs and textiles, 30 June - 7 July 2019.

From Greek Island embroideries at The Whitworth Museum in Manchester, to English interpretations of Turkish rugs at Boughton House in Northamptonshire—also home to the Buccleuch Sanguszko carpet, one of the greatest 17th century Persian carpets in private hands (main picture), to tapestries and Indian textiles at Hardwick Hall in Derbyshire, to the long established university museums of Oxford and Cambridge: the great wealth of notable material housed outside of the capital is the subject of the ‘Great British Collections’ tour.

The tour will be led by Jacqueline Coulter, consultant at Sotheby’s London and expert on carpets and Islamic art.
