- What’s On
Palermo-based art collective Nostra Signora’s latest project takes the dilapidated Hotel Italia in Istanbul’s Tomtom neighbourhood (which is very close to the exhibiting venue), and attempts to breathe new life into it through painting, photography, sculpture, video and installation.
The exhibition is really a site-specific intervention which aims to explore themes such as travelling and urban transformation, which can both be transient in their natures. By allowing the viewer to peek inside ‘Hotel Italia’, the collective questions what the hotel – in all its forms – means to the city.
