The exhibition explores the roots of the Mediterranean diet. The culinary tradition of Mediterranean countries is not only one of the healthiest in the world but also provides sustainable alternatives amidst the ever-increasing climate crisis. The cross-media works were captured by six award-winning photographers during their separate travels, documenting the mountains of Morocco where locals follow a plant-based diet as meat is unaffordable, a farmers market on Turkey’s western shores, the Portuguese island of Culatra which was heavily affected by pollution and overfishing, modern farms on Cyprus, and more. By focusing on the origins of the diet within the scope of our modern-day crises, the exhibition seeks to shed light on the continuity between the past and the present of the Mediterranean.
