Art x-ist presents Aylin Zaptçıoğlu’s second solo exhibition at the gallery, between November 26 and January 2, 2021.

Working with various mixed materials such as ink, gouache and watercolour paint, Aylin Zaptçıoğlu questions the utilitarian and pragmatic nature of humanity’s relationship with nature. Taking into account the long-lasting philosophical divide between nature and culture, ‘in situ/ex situ’ examines the processes of deterritorialization and reterritorialization, mostly visible in museums of natural history, through which humanity has built itself a controlling ego over life, by way of distancing itself from nature.
