“Le Printemps des Artistes” is a week-long art exhibition organised by Istanbul Accueil and hosted by Sainte Pulcherie Lisesi in their art gallery Od’A (Ouvroir d’Art) in Taksim.
The exhibition takes place in springtime and the aim is twofold: to showcase local artists (Turkish and international) and to raise funds for carefully selected charities.
Proceedings from the sales of artworks will support three charities this year: Hayata Sarıl Dernegi, which helps homeless individuals reintegrate through social entrepreneurship; Mor Çatı Kadın Sığınağı Vakfı, which provides shelter and aid to victims of domestic violence; and Lape Hospital, which treats patients with psychiatric disorders.
Artists this year include Abd Allatif Aljeemo, Canan Aydoğan, Imad Habbab, Murat Irtem, Kenan Işık, Yasemin Kuzucu, Nima Rahimiha, Gabrielle Reeves, Emine Şenses and Cemal Toy. The artists took their inspiration from the city of Istanbul and its cosmopolitan, multi-faceted and multi-sensory environment.
