Marshmallow Laser Feast’s Treehugger and In the Eyes of the Animal are are multi-sensory immersive installations that illuminate the invisible—but fundamental—connection that ties animal and plant, human and natural world. Marshmallow Laser Feast is at the forefront of experimental art, and these wondrous installations are not to be missed. They are open until December 7.
The Union, as its name implies, is the story of a happy convergence. This selection from the Erol Tabanca Collection, which Tabanca started in early 2000s, comprises of works created after 1950s by artists from Turkey and from several corners of the world.
The exhibition brings together the works by epoch-making artists in Turkish art history with those of young contemporary artists, thus in a sense uniting several creative generations. It will be open until January 1, 2020.
Tanabe Chikuunsai IV, from the famed Chikuunsai family of bamboo artists, created a site-specific installation at OMM that will continue until September 20, 2020. In this installation, Chikuunsai IV used the ‘tiger bamboo’ variety, grown only on a mountain in Japan’s Kochi region. His art highlights the four elements in nature – water, fire, air, earth – but also includes space, as well as the people living in Eskişehir and the exhibition visitors.
