Our Wounds, Our Ballads

May 27, 2015 – September 5, 2015

Art ON Istanbul, Meşrutiyet Cad. Bilsar Binası No. 90-A, Şişhane, Beyoğlu

A group show of artists from different generations working in various disciplines whose works explore associations between poetic and visual language.

The title is derived from the famous Greek poet Yannis Ritsos’s poem ‘Resemblance’, with the show focusing on the concept of the ‘wound’ in Ritsos’s world of dreams. Following the gallery’s exhibition last year about the poetic universe of the eminent poet İlhan Berk, this show likewise aims to reflect on various metaphors of daily life with a poetic touch.

Some very important artists are showcased, including Burak Bedenlier, Hera Büyüktaşçıyan, Canan Dağdelen, İpek Duben, Murat Germen, Serkan Taycan, Jochen Proehl and Johannes Wohnseifer.
